Strong BARBEQUE location! It worked out fantastic for our Saturday outing. My husband and also I parked close by, biked down the shore and also around the Palos Verdes peninsula, as well as back up to Britt's to regain all the calories we had burned. We're paranoid concerning leaving our bikes around, despite locks, but luckily Britt's has 2 large tables out front, so we remained on the unethical outdoor patio and leaned our bikes up against our table. The food selection has a fantastic selection of barbecued meats in plate as well as sandwich kind in addition to a variety of sides. We got a 2-meat combination and also a complete shelf of infant back ribs, which ended up being 3 parts worth of food (yay for leftovers!). The pulled pork and also brisket were both very delicious. The child back ribs just weren't one of the most tender worldwide, and also the sauce was suitable. The cucumber salad was really one of my favorite points I consumed; it's amazing, rejuvenating, acidic, as well as tangy. The beans are type of spicy but scrumptious. Chili mac is simply all right. There was an additionally a benefit cream-filled smoke pastry at the end, which was all right but a great touch.
I enjoyed this place but I would say they would need to work on some of there sauces. The meats where tender and pretty good I deducted a star because it was lacking on some of the sauces

I've been here twice now. I've had the Tri tip sandwich with their potato salad and today it was their brisket. Both sandwiches were very good. Good flavor with different choices of bbq sauces. My only criticism would be the brisket was slightly cold. Which is fine because this place is still very new with a modern atmosphere. I'd come back again. I also think the baked beans are better than the potato salad. But you be the judge.

If you like BBQ you need to stop by and try this spot out. If you like your BBQ saucy then this spot may not be for you, but you should definitely still try it out.
The locations is a little weird as it is located at the bottom of some nice apartments right on the corner of Stanton and Orangethorpe. Parking is located on the backside of the restaurant.
I had the two meat combo: brisket and tri tip with baked beans and Santa Maria Style Coleslaw. The wife went with the half rack of pork ribs with french fries and 4 cheese mac. The brisket and tri tip were pretty bomb, Santa Maria is known for their tri tip, but I would say the brisket is probably better. The ribs here are so smokey, that I didn't even use any sauce with them as the smoke ring and flavor was delicious. The sides were all surprisingly good. The baked beans are not your usual run of the mill thick and sweet baked beans, but instead they are made with spices. The SM style cole slaw has no mayo to it, more like a salad dressing type of sauce. The fries were delicious and remind me of mojo potatoes from Shaky's.
Very good. OC lacks some awesome BBQ and Santa Maria BBQ fills that spot for now. The prices are a little high, but the quality of food is def worth it. The 2 meat combo platter is enough for one person, maybe two people if they are not too hungry.

Leaving the Salvation Army Thrift store
my nose caught the sweet Aroma of BBQ...
Lo and Behold ...across the street i see the NOW OPEN sign for Santa Maria BBQ...
Being a huge fan of BBQ
and always on the hunt for a great new place
I had to try this establishment out...
First off...this is the most unique location ever...the restsurant is at the bottom Corner of a new apt building
When you step inside you notice that it shares the space with a coffee house...
I actually like the set-up
It bright and roomy
Very comfy inside...
With a homelike feel.
There is even a table with board games to play if your with friends...
Hey, my GF and I almost played CLUE (lol)
They serve beer, Which I was happy to see, and have happy hour specials...
Now...lets get to the important matter of food...
I was gonna order the pulled pork but a cute young lady slicing up the freshly smoked Tri tip gave me a sample and my mouth rejoiced as i chewed the the smoky, tender , flavorful morsel.
I switched from pulled pork to tri tip and am happy i did
It was delicious!!!
My mouth is watering as i write THIS...
And I also liked that they had a variety of Bbq sauces to choose from...you can mix and match
My favorite was the brown sugar and garlic
I also got a side of mac and cheese
(Needs major work on the recipe)
It was slightly overcooked and gluey...
Also not much cheese...
A BBQ restaurant MUST have xlnt mac and cheese...
However the BBQ beans were FANTASTIC...
I WANTED MORE
I almost bought a side order to take home
Definitely try them out
The meat was perfect
The beans xlnt
The mac and cheese needs to improve...
I happen to be of the opinion that they should serve each order with a couple of slices of cheap plain white bread...
It sort of a staple with BBQ rrstaurants of this type...
It fills out THE plate
And you can sop up the BBQ sauce with it
Another room for improvement.....
Your sides are served to you in small styrofoam cups
And the meat is wrapped in foil
It made the meal appear smaller than it was
I dont know
I just didnt like the presentation
Put my meal on a styrofoam plate
And give me a little bit more of the sides...
Especially the beans...i would be much happier!!
And some bread to sop up my sauce and to put a slice of your tender smoky tri tip in
I dont usually give recommendations like this in a yelp review but i want this place to make it..
I really did like the food and will be back...
And next time i will order an ice cold beer
Stop in and try this place...
Definitely a unique set up...
And a great place to eat...
The BBQ is bomb

Nice little hidden gem in Buena Park. The place is small but EXTREMELY clean. I consider this a place that needs more exposure because it is kind of hidden. Food was delicious however a bit pricey but I'd pay for quality food over a lower price with less than quality food. I suggest trying the baked beans as a side those we're absolutely delicious as was the Tri Tip and chicken which is what we had. The service was also top notch very friendly staff at this place. They really make you feel at home. I have no major complaints about this place and highly recommend. 7 friends 32 reviews
It's nice but I think can be better. The tri tip seemed a bit dry. The drinks are good and loved the fries 0 friends 8 reviews 14 photos
Tender pork ribs and tangy sauces. Impressed with the crispy coleslaw. And the Mac n cheese was on point! I will be back. Questionable parking situation but the restaurant was fresh and clean and the beer was good.

Parking can be very confusing here. Its inside a condo complex. I was greeted very nicely and was explained different menus and given samples. Great customer service. The food was really good, but i did not like the corn. Thats my taste preference so i wont take off a star. They are very nice people and the pulled pork was the best. Ribs not so kid friendly. My kids had a hard time eating them because it wouldnt cut very well with their tiny teeth. Good think i had the pulled pork and the chicken

I stopped by yesterday bc it was on my way to my destination. And I gotta say I'm glad i did. The food was amazing. The brisket was my absolute favorite. Super tender and a really nice smoky flavor. The wait wasn't long at all, seeing that i was in a rush to be where i had to be. Archie was very welcoming and attentive to everyone around. He made sure everyone was good and had everything they needed. Paul was also very polite and helped us with everything I needed, including beers and extra bbq sauce (really good btw). I also wanted to point out that they have an amazing beer selection. Loved their I.P.A. selection and draught beers, especially the SPACE DUST I.P.A.. Keep up the great work fellas, see ya soon..
Great upscale BBQ joint! I cant get over their brisket. They also have a coffee / juice bar and a big patio for that post meal espresso and nice place to hang with your peeps. Amazing food and atmosphere hands down. I would give this place 6 stars if I could.
If you have not yet tried Santa Maria BBQ, then you haven't tried real BBQ in our region yet! This new local restaurant is blowing up by word of mouth, beginning with their sides (my favorites are the beans and mac), the sauces (which ought to be mass-produced for the rest of the world to enjoy), and meats that are BBQ'd to perfection! You'll be coming back for more brisket and pulled pork weekly on your lunch break, or for dinner with your family. I recently hired this place to cater my campaign kickoff for city council, and the comments I got afterwords were less "great speech" and more "that's the best d*** BBQ I've ever had!"
What a gem! Not even half way through my dinner and had to yelp Santa Maria Bbq! The Mac and cheese is to die for and tri tip is DELISH! I'll definitely be back, thanks y'all!
