The best of the best. The breads are delicious & the fresh vegetable vegan pizza a real treat. It all tastes good but even more importantly, it makes me FEEL good. Full of energy & increased mental clarity. And did I mention that this bread cured me of gluten intolerance? This is the real deal and worth driving for!
UPDATED REVIEW: GLUTEN WASN'T THE PROBLEM. NEVERTHELESS, MY INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE PRACTITIONERS AND HEALTH ADVISORS HAD SUGGESTED I GO GLUTEN FREE TO COMBAT MY SEVERE DIGESTIVE ISSUES. ONCE I TOLD SEVERAL OF THEM ABOUT THIS FRESH ORGANIC WHOLE GRAIN STONE GROUND BREAD FROM JOSEPH'S BAKERY THEY AGREED THAT I SHOULD TRY IT. THIS 'STRONG' BREAD IS SO ENJOYABLE AND SUSTAINING THAT I CAN'T IMAGINE BEING WITHOUT IT. I have digestive issues. Indigestion.the runs anytime I ate many foods. The whole wheat was worse than the regular breads. Since I started josephs bread especially the Kamut ancient grain , I have have regular digestion. No runs no constipation. Sugar levels have stabilized. More energy.less cravings. 1/2 loaf per meal I usually eat. Caring and knowledgeable staff. Feels like I am eating REAL Food!
Wow! At a loss for words here. After spending OVER A YEAR with stomach pains from acid reflux, after less than a week switching... to Joseph's bread and a special herbal tea.., I have found my acid reflux issued have all but disappeared. This is coming from someone who generally is very skeptical of homeopathic cures. I haven't had to switch back to my medicine ever since, and I doubt I ever will God-willing! The owner is very friendly, and knowledgeable as well. I drive down every week now to make sure I get the onion garlic bread (personal favorite).
I've suffered from bad health for the past 25 years. Digestive problems have been a constant issue. Years ago I had a colostomy bag. Since then, I suffered from terrible bloating and constipation that leaves me unable to function. The worst was the constipation and the fact that I couldn't digest food properly. A few months ago I tried a loaf of bread from Joseph's Organic Bakery. I couldn't believe it- no bad reaction, no pain, no bloating! Every week I come back to the bakery for the bread and the digestive tea. I am happy to say that I no longer suffer from constipation, and my digestion is so much better. Still now I can't believe that I can actually eat bread again. The difference in my health is astounding!

Everything is fresh stoneground on the premises daily using the highest quality fresh organic grains unrefined unadulterated and made with fresh yeast in a sourdough style. These breads are so enjoyable to bite into rendering a very satisfying eating experience.From what I learned there, which is corroborated by several medical experts that I know, Gluten alone is not the enemy. Apparently the highly refined industrial processing of grains into fine flours that separate the natural 'co-factor' elements of the grains are at fault for a lot of today's health issues. I highly recommend trying the products and learning about their unique baking process. Now I can enjoy eating bread !

My family just tried the stone ground bread for the first time and loved it!! The gourmet cinnamon raisin was a hit even in family of folks who don’t care for raisins!!! The stone ground spelt made for a yummy and filling turkey sandwich. It makes great toast with lots of good butter on it! You must try it!!!
I'm a dietitian, and I LOVE this concept. Fresh, stone-ground product with no preservatives? Winning. Gluten is not the devil, it's the way we process it that is, and Kosher Mom knows this. Delicious and nutritious.
I was skeptical at first, but once I was explained the process of making bread the old fashioned way, I decided to give it a try. The bread is delicious, and the taste and texture are nothing like anything I have eaten before. I feel full, but not bloated. This bread is a totally different concept from the "whole grain", "organic", or "all natural" breads you find at the store. I will never go back!

My son was diagnosed with celiac disease 2 years ago. He experienced bloating,gas and terrible aches whenever he ate bread. He has not had bread in at least 2 years. We hesitantly tried your cranberry kamut loaf, no problems, no bad reactions. It's unbelievable!. He also had the spelt and onion bread. No bad reactions! All of us in the family enjoy the bread. Every Sunday morning, I patiently await the arrival of AMOS at the Yellow/Green market on Taft Street in Hollywood. no other seller at the market has earned this kind of loyalty from me. In fact, my anxiety upon finding Amos absent from his stall (on Jewish holidays), is an emotional test that takes me all day to recover from. the reason for this is simple; he provides me with The Greatest Bread on Earth. I like the name JOSEPH'S NATURAL BREAD. It's a good name. It'll sell bread. It's personal, and it's endearing to both the ear, and to the senses. It even looks good. But THE GREATEST BREAD ON EARTH would be far more accurate. Should you ever encounter diminishing sales, or suddenly find yourselves pitted against a new competitor founded by a bunch of trust-fund hippies with the financial ability to out-maneuver you in some shameless publicity campaign, just change your name to THE GREATEST BREAD ON EARTH. I dare someone to try to prove you're not what you claim to be. they;d be wasting their time. Thanks for the amazing bread. I've traveled the globe more than just once, and your bread really is the best i've ever tasted.
Where do I begin except with, WOW! My husband and I were walking through the farmers market and happened upon your son setting up your booth. I have what has been diagnosed as Celiac disease and over the last 8 years since finding this out have had unbelievable bouts of headaches, stomachs aches and intestinal pains from eating even the smallest amounts of gluten.I have become so intolerant to gluten that even a small contamination from gluten has catastrophic effects on me.Your son was so passionate and informative about your ancient process of stone grinding (I also recently watched a documentary with very similar discussions) that I had to take the risk of an afternoon of suffering for the slim chance that your theory just might resolve some of my Celiac issues.I tasted a small piece and then bought a loaf to take home. Typically even that small taste would have brought on the headache and some uncomfortable stomach cramps. Then upon getting home, some 30 minutes later, I still did not feel "glutened" and then I took the major plunge by slicing off two pieces, toasting them and covering them with my favorite cheese.I was prepared for an afternoon of pulsating headaches and stomach problems, but to my incredible surprise nothing except an afternoon out and about with my family!In our home we eat very healthy, using only organic fresh foods with nothing "processed" and no GMO products. I cook for every meal with eating out as a true rarity and we never eat in any fast food establishments.The "Celiac" diagnosis has crimped my life in many ways and at the same time has opened my eyes to the industrial methods of today's environment. I am the farthest from a professional in either the nutritional or medical field, but one thing is 100% certain and that is the first and only time over the last 8 years that I have eaten ANY gluten product (even a sip of beer as the slightest of gluten example) that I have not had one negative result latch itself into my day or night.There is definitely something to your theory of stone grinding in place of the modern high pressure heated process of grinding grains into flours, and I am looking forward to you developing more items, like pizza doughs and sweet treats as cakes or cookies!Yesterday was one of those days like looking down and finding a shiny penny on the ground. Thank you so much for sending us the delicious bread. I have not eaten wheat in 4 years because of the terrible side effects I would have from it, including sweating, depression, and lethargy. I was hesitant to try your bread but even after eating about a half a loaf, I had no side effects at all! I couldn't believe it! My son who has ADD is off of wheat as well because of the negative reactions he has to it. He also tried the bread and none of the side effects he usually has after he eats wheat appeared. We were both thrilled that we could eat bread again and not worry about its negative effects. Thank you so much!
