Rick, I played in Fla last week and the new clubs were fantastic. The tips you gave me were also invaluable. Will be making appointment for more lessons as soon as it gets warmer. Thanks again.
Al Carrigan. The lesson made a big difference. I thought I would never be able to swing well befor the lesson. After Rick watched me swing, he saw where I was going wrong. I know now that I was trying so hard to keep my left arm straigh that I was not turning my hips back at the same time as my arms were swinging back. I had always thought that the hips should stay still until the end of the golf swing. Now that I know the correct method, I will practice it. I will come back after I think I have accomplished that.

Hi Rick,
YES, I had a very good experience with the lesson! Thanks, your tips were VERY helpful.
Just as I was leaving the lesson Saturday afternoon, my friend called, and we met over at Rich Maiden.
I hit the ball just great. Nice solid contact, with a nice high draw shape.
I kept calm the hole round, ended +3. One double, a few bogies, two birdies and an ACE! My first one, I bounced an easy 9 iron in from 128!
Wow, when I said I felt I was close to improving a lot, I didn't think I would have a hole in one and my best round ever a few hours later!
Really, seeing the face tape and how much variation in contact I was making, along with you recognizing that I was breaking a little in the back made me face the fact that I need to concentrate more, hit more squarely. Firming up my left hand a bit with the thumb more steady on the club. Tempo and follow through are huge.
I guess I sort of felt I was hitting it a few millimeters from square, not an inch! I can do better than that!
Also played two rounds Sunday at Hickory Valley, had low drama 89 and 91. Definitely striking the ball much more squarely, solidly.
I sprayed a handful of long shots, duffed a few chips or I easily could have been lower 80's.
I'll practice it in a bit more and come see you again,
Thanks again,
Peter
