Geoff is a top act and very easy to follow trainer who uses the term actual first aid which in a nutshell means you are live and directly doing the motion of the first aid procedure, hands on overcoming the initial stages of panic by knowing the causalites symptoms, therefore delivering the right methods . I use to drive an ambulance and had a number of trainers who are more down to remembering paperwork side but as we know first aid is whoever is on the scene first to deliver the right method by actually doing it and waiting for the ambulance service to assist where necessary.

I attended a 2 day first aid training facilitated by Geoff. Over the years, I have attended lots of training and found Geoff's presentation skills unique. He was very relaxed with his teachings, seamlessly moving from sharing real life scenarios, showing clips of real life injuries and encouraging the group to practice various skills on one another. It was clear that Geoff has a wealth of experience that he was happy to share in a way that made it easy to understand. Thanks Geoff :)

Where do I start ,from start to finish I was so engaged in the training I have been to so many courses where I listen and when I get out don’t remember a thing but with Geoff it was completely different he had a professional manner and draws you into learning with his personality ,I will pass that knowledge on to family and friends and that means more lives can be saved!!!thank you Geoff sad my course is over but have taken so much from it .

I did 2 days of Paediatric First Aid Training with Geoff with work. Geoff was a great trainer, giving plenty of time to answer questions, doing demonstrations, giving us lots of opportunities to practise and discuss. The course content was great-giving lots of real life examples and allowing us to practise and discuss what we would do if faced with these situations. I would definitely recommend the course! I came home and taught my 10 year old and 4 year old what to do if they see some choke and how to open someone’s airways and put them in the recovery position. Thanks Geoff!

Geoff provided two days of very hands on, engaging and comprehensive training. I learned so much! The classes were particularly helpful in the many stories that were shared by Geoff and the group and opportunities to practice what we learned, that allowed for a very interactive experience.

This is the third course I attended with Actual First Aid. Their trainers are knowledgeable, helpful and understanding. They give you plenty of time to practice procedures on your own and mentor you as you do so. I would highly recommend them and that everyone participates in their courses.

I have attended many first aid courses, but this first aid course was very different. Using your own experiences and listening to others,just made sense as to what a person needs to do to try and save someones life, if ever the need arises. Geoff you were brilliant.

This was my first time I had an first aid training and Iv learnt so much from it and I took it home with me and taught my kids and all thanks to Geoff McKay, he is so amazing I wish he taught me everything because he explains everything so easily and makes learning so fun. Just had a 2 day first aid training course with Geoff McKay i have to say what an informative 2 days they were, Geoff was an amazing tutor and instantly made us all feel comfortable, he listened to everything we had to say and answered every question we threw at him no matter how silly we thought they were, he was kind and had compassion for when we said things that had happened to us or a loved one, the course felt more like a gathering of colleagues than a training course and it was relaxed and fun. I'm confident that from this training i will be able to deal with whatever emergency is thrown my way with confidence and effectiveness. Id recommend Geoff to anyone needing training .

I recently attended a first aid Course with Geoff at Bailiffscourt Hotel. On the first day all I was thinking about on the Journey down was OMG I can't be bothered with another Boring First Aid Course where we are going to be staring at Powerpoints and reading text Books all day. But I was completely wrong. We would watch a realistic video for each subject and then Geoff would ask us to demonstrate as a group what we would do. Not only was this more interesting but it was a great way to interact with people that we haven't met before plus for me personally everything sunk in because we were doing practical scenarios and not just reading books. Me personally I think Geoff was the best First Aid teacher I've ever experienced. He was so relaxed and chilled, Came up with some amazing stories that he had to experience himself plus he cared about every single person in the room. I really do hope we get him again in 3 Years time for our refresher course.

I recently attended a three day training course for the Hotel chain I work for. Previously I have worked as cabin crew and so had what I considered to be a wealth of knowledge when it came to first aid - I was wrong! Geoff really was an incredible teacher, gone were the text books and power points that make you wish the day was over and instead he taught us using a mixture of engaging stories and realistic videos. I’ve never been on a course I found this engaging and I’ve honestly stepped away from it not only feeling more confident than I ever have with any previous training, but actually a bit gutted it’s over! Very interesting and incredibly helpful, I highly recommend Actual First Aid to anyone wanting practical and useable knowledge of first aid.

I was invited from my son's nursery to receive Actual First Aid training , and I was amazed by Geoff McKay training , he explained everything with very well and got us to simulate which was so helpful to actually understand and know exactly what to do on an emergency. Most of us take our life for granted and don't know how important it is to have this knowledge mostly when you are a parent . I strongly recommend Geoff training and Actual first aid training.

I attended first aid training for the first time in my life, It was thought by Geoff McKay for two days (18/5/19 and 25/5/19). It was well worth it, as I have always think is of no use to me.It was an eye opener to me. I really enjoyed the training and I have learnt so much that I now teach every one around me. I have just completed the paediatric first aid course with Geoff and i would have to say this is one of the best first aid courses i have been on. Geoff is super knowledgeable and the way the course is structured means you get the opportunity to practice, ask questions and learn a huge amount of information relatively easily. Finished pediatric first aid training with Geoff yesterday and wanted to say a huge thanks for the experience! The workshop was informative and thought provoking as well as a real good group experience where we could share our own experiences of first aid emergencies and ask for advice openly and freely through out the session. The course was extremely helpfull and informative. Geoff the trainer was very knowledgeable & excellent with our group. Geoff's style of mixing his empirical and professional experience really helped the information resonate. Geoff is a brilliant teacher as he has practical experience as a medic and is great at connecting with people. The first aid course he runs is very informative with a good mix of practice and theory and was tailored to the needs of the group which was a bonus. I attended the course at a children's centre with other parents and there were about 12 of us in total many who have babies and small children. Geoff was great at interacting with us and through practising on the baby and child dummies we were able to gain confidence in performing CPR. The course is very direct which it needs to be and you do watch videos of people in extremely severe and sad situations but it's important to see and to understand for example that people can still be moving their arms and mouths even when their heart has stopped!! It's nothing like Casualty on TV so it's really important to see this and to know what to do and to know that you have to try and do something at times as it's the difference of saving someone's life or them dying and also preventing brain damage and further problems. I would urge any training provider or individual to book this course it's essential especially as the UK has such poor responses to first aid and many people on our streets wouldn't stop to help someone who had collapsed out of fear or lack of knowledge. Also I feel strongly as a mum that this course should be mandatory for teens and upwards.

Attended first aid course run by Geoff this week. It is the best course I have attended and I've done a lot over the years. I learnt many practical techniques I had never encountered before and we all tried them out to enable us to feel confident to respond to any emergencies we may face. For the first time I feel more prepared. Geoff was thorough in helping us understand the body and what can go wrong and therefore what to do, using clear images and examples that deepened any previous understanding. He had an engaging, responsive and fun teaching style while remaining compassionate to the hard things people had encountered in their own life experiences. I would highly recommend.

Amazingly thoughtout and organised way of teaching. Geoff keeps every step of the training easy and interesting. I have had 7 first aid courses over 17 years. My 2nd with geoff was as interesting and informative. Highly recommended and the best first aid I have attended.

I've done 5 day and 3 day First Aid Courses with since 1994 with various organisations including St John's Ambulance. The 1st time I trained with Geoff I thought ' How can they deliver all that in just 1 day?' But in fact 1 day is all they need to teach 'Actual First Aid'. Just completed my 6th or 7th course with You (Annual Requirement from my Martial Arts Club as an Instructor). Thanks again, it's never Dull or Dry, it's always Interesting and Fun. The perfect name 'Actual First Aid'. Nothing more nothing less.

I have completed a few first aid courses over the years and by far this has to have been the most informative one to date. The actual training was based on real life experiences and day to day incidents that could happen at work or home. The teaching style was excellent and the trainer used many real life examples and hands on practice which made the basic principles impossible to forget. There are so many simple things we can do to help someone in an emergency which could make all the difference between life and death. Thank you Actual First aid.

I attended the first aid training held by Geoff Mckay this week and it was really good! I've never had first aid training before but in a few hours Geoff was able to cover many key topics. The class was very interactive thus making it interesting to learn. After the lesson he was also able to email me across the slides from the course and I also had one last question to ask about what to do when a baby is choking when coughing and he was happy to still reply back and help! I would highly recommend this course.
