I have tried perming my hair twice in the past. Both times, it was not satisfactory and I had to cut the curls off in less than a month. I thought, that’s it, I’m never ever going to perm my hair, ever again. After I started going to Vast Hair and “going under Jason Lin’s scissors” since about 3 years ago, my desire to perm came back because I felt I could trust Jason to do it well. Indeed he can! I had my first perm a month ago but only after I related all my concerns about bad perms to him. So Jason knew how I felt and gave me a soft perm on the lower part of my shoulder length hair. It looked good on me and I got comments that it looked like those Korean perms that’re so in vogue these days. But because of the light nature, the curls didn’t last long and I went back to Jason for advice. He sensed that I had more courage and confidence now, and after some discussion, I decided to let him carry out his vision this time of a complete perm plus a haircut to about chin length. The result was amazing! I never had such great curls on my stubbornly straight hair ever! Jason also spent a good amount of time teaching me how to maintain and style the hair. He is a very experienced hairstylist and I feel safe with my hair in his care. But I would recommend all to develop our own knowledge on hair care and styling, because after we step out of the salon and wash our hair the first time after a perm, it’s all up to us to style it to perfection. Even the best hairstylist cannot give you a permed head of hair that is perfect after every wash without us putting in the effort ourselves. Having said that, having a super pro hairstylist who understands your needs and your hair is a great start, and I can’t recommend Jason highly enough!

I've been Jason's customer for more than a decade! Had changed so many stylists until I found Jason and stuck with him ever since. He knows the style that suits each individual, be it haircut, colour or styling. My hair texture has became much better with the treatments he recommended for me. I have no qualm at giving him a free hand to my hair. Other cheap deals at other salons also cannot tempt me away.

Jason is hand down best hair stylist I ever had. Really, I am not kidding. I have been going to Vast Hair for many years and he knows me and my hair so well that most of the time I just tell him to do what he think the best and it is always amazing. I went to vast hair after seeing 5/5 in Google but I ended up having a very bad experience.I had a super long and curly hair and wanted to cut, blow dry, iron a bit and do curls at the end ( Did in tony and guy last time and had amazing result) which was clearly conveyed when I booked the appointment through phone. But somehow there was a miscommunication and the stylist thought it was shoulder length and was very rude to me after seeing the length of the hair !!? She didn’t suggest me any cut, didnt understand my accent and she even taught me how to pronounce words !?! She did a good job in blow dry, ironing and curls part though. I would suggest the people to be little friendly towards the customers. Except Jason no one was ..!

Great first time experience! I was worried that the stylist would not be able to handle my hair as it's wavy but he did a wonderful job! The stylist, Sze Tho was very friendly and advised me on what how I should cut it and what colour I should dye it as well. He was also very patient and handled my hair with lots of care. Will definitely go back there and will recomend it to anyone who wants good service.
