Roy Electric sent a technician to diagnose a tripping breaker in my newly renovated home office. The technician ran some tests and replaced the breaker. The work seems satisfactory. However, he tracked mud and debris throughout the house and left grime and scratches on freshly painted walls. Call Roy Electric if you want to spend an hour cleaning up your house after they leave.

Absolutely horrible job! I requested a charging station to charge my new electric vehicle. First, he showed up 45 minutes late because he said he needed to get gas. Then, he never even opened the box to the charger (even though my husband layed the box out for him). In doing that, he installed the incorrect outlet and the charging plug doesn't fit. He also moved a bunch of things in our garage and didn't clean up after himself. Unfortunately, I am on an empty charge right now and have a lot of driving to do tomorrow and I'm not able to charge my car!! When my husband got home from work, we tried calling the installer and he said he would talk to his supervisor. When he called us back, he said he couldn't come back out until tomorrow morning. A lot of good that will do me because I have 3 appointments tomorrow and no charge on my car. My husband told him that was unacceptable and that we just paid him $1,000 to do a job and it wasn't done right. He told him to have his supervisor call us...needless to say, the supervisor didn't call. So my husband ran out to Lowe's, purchased the CORRECT outlet, and installed it himself. My car is now finally charging. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone. They send people out that do not care and don't do the job correctly. The charging box should have been opened so he could see what type of plug it was before installing something that didn't even work and then charge me $1,000.

I used Roy Electric to install a few security cameras. Then I noticed a few days later that I was not getting signal from one of the installed cameras. So I texted the owner and requested if someone could come out to take a look at the camera that is not working. He never responsed. So I hired another contractor to take a look at the camera and they discovered that the previous contractors cut the pre wiring too short and did not connect the camera at all. I dont know how you walk away from a job you know you did not complete and still accept payment. Least be honest enough to tell me there was an issue with one of them. Since the wires were cut too short, the new contractors told me that they would have to rip out the existing pre wire and drill holes in my house to install a new one. Now this is going to cost me even more money.

I needed some repairs to my exterior electrical box enclosures after my house was resided. Roy Electric was prompt in making contact with me the next day and explaining the process for repair which included needing to involve the power company. I was able to provide pictures of my outside wiring and Steve was very prompt in confirming it could be fixed and he provided an approximate cost for the repair given what he could see from the pictures. The day of the repair Roy's electricians contacted me 30 minutes prior to arrival, and by chance they arrived at the same moment as the Duke lineman required for the work. My repairs were made in under an hour and my house lost power for all of 2 minutes while the portion of the repair requiring service disconnect was performed. I would recommend Roy Electric to anyone requiring repairs to electrical work.

Steve, from Roy Electric, returned my phone call quickly after two other companies did not return my calls at all. He talked me through the options for connecting a generator to my service panel. We set a time and date to then install an interlock switch and the necessary accessories. The two service men were knowledgeable, polite, thorough in explaining how to use the interlock switch and cleaned up when they were done. They were terrific.

Had Roy Electric out as we were putting an addition on and wanted to make sure the electrician that my contractor hired was doing things right. Steve and his crew walked me through a few concerns with my projector and tv wiring that saved me thousands of dollars. We were able to fix the issues and saved me from cutting a ton of holes in my new walls and ceiling of the addition - I'd recommend them 100%, thanks Roy Electric.

Of course, I’m trusting them assuming they do know what they are doing if the owner trusts them to complete the job. They ended up cutting 3 holes in my ceiling that were not needed and going through my flooring upstairs damaging my carpet! I’m a pretty understanding person and get that people make mistakes. Once the owner, Steve, arrived it was obvious they had NO idea what they were doing and the mistake should have never been made in what was a pretty common and easy project to undertake. What bothered me the most was the fact that Steve NEVER ONCE apologized for the mistake that had been made, or just say I’m so sorry this happened. He did complete the recessed lights but now I can’t find anyone to patch just the ugly holes in my ceiling without paying for patching and repainting the entire downstairs ceiling. Which, of course, is a much more expensive project to undertake which I never wanted nor needed to do. He actually seemed perturbed and rude about the whole thing and wanted to fix it and get out. I will never use him again and I might have given them another chance (or resisted the urge to write a review) if he had just been nice.

Roy's crew came to do bonding of CSST and change a light fixture on a ceiling about 14 feet high. They came on time (earlier in fact, but called ahead to make sure that was okay), were professional, friendly, explained the work, made sure I understood what they were going to do and were finished promptly. The price was very reasonable and highly competitive to other electricians I quoted for the job. To my surprise, they take PayPal, which I appreciated. All in all, positive experience.

The price was very reasonable and highly competitive to other electricians I quoted for the job. To my surprise, they take PayPal, which I appreciated. All in all, positive experience.
